Owner and executive chef Damien DiPaola, along with 7 year Chef di Cucina, Michael Hollenkamp, put extra love and attention into every single one of Carmelina's dishes. Damien is very hands-on and involved in everything that takes place at his establishments. He also own Vitos Tavern located on Salem Street.

Business Owner

Owner and Executive chef Damien DiPaola opened the original Carmelina's on rte 9 , between Amherst and Northampton, in the town of Hadley, in August of 1985. His inspiration was his mother, Carmelina, and all the fabulous meals she cooked throughout his childhood. He sold the original Carmelina's in 2008 so he could open a Carmelina's in his old neighborhood, the North End. We are proud to display our work ethic, precision, skill and cleanliness in our open kitchen as the centerpiece of our intimate dining room. Enjoy the people watching, sounds, and life through our giant open windows, facing Hanover St, in Bostons famous Little Italy, the North End.
